The Role:

As Head Of Vehicle Dynamics you will be responsible for leading the Vehicle Dynamics team with the target of developing the understanding of chassis dynamics and guide the development and design for optimum car performance.

 

What you will do:

  • Administration and management of the Vehicle Dynamics group
  • Management and delivery of all departmental testing, modelling & analysis activities
  • Management of simulator, dyno and rig test activities for vehicle performance optimization
  • Management of departmental tools and process development activity in collaboration with other Vehicle Performance sub-groups
  • Operation room (remote garage) leadership role and specific vehicle dynamics support during race, tests and simulator events.

What you need:

  • Proven competences in vehicle dynamics associated with a professional motor racing constructor preferably within the formula 1 environment and familiarity with the management and development of such a group.
  • An understanding of power unit optimization and formulation of models using dyno and track data.
  • An understanding of brake system physics and optimization including interaction with brake-by-wire system.
  • An understanding of suspension definition and optimization including ride performance, interaction with vehicle platform control and balance and tyre optimization.
  • Experience in analysing competition vehicle performance
  • Experience of analysis tool and model development using Dymola & Matlab / Simulink.
  • Experience of simulator, dyno and test rig activity

The Role:

As a Senior Car System Design Engineer, you will be completing design of engine systems, fuel system, gearbox cooling system and integration of these into the whole car package. You will be responsible for the specific components assigned to you, contributing from concept through detailed design, creating supporting documentation and contributing to problem resolution.


What you will do:

  • Complete detailed design, to specification, the car systems components and installations assigned on target according to planned deadlines
  • Support design work with concept and aerodynamic departments to maximise car systems impact on overall car performance
  • Endeavour that all design work is fit for purpose and take ownership for the quality of parts designed

Quality NDT Inspector

The Role:

In this role you will be responsible for the factory based and trackside structural inspection of components and for the traceability of and the information about the aforementioned inspections.

You will also support the track fault investigations and the internal Production.


What you will do:

  • Perform structural NDT inspections on the components delivered to the Quality NDT Department under both the acceptance process of new components and during the in-life service, to verify their structural integrity, both in the AlphaTauri Factory and during the external Race Team, Test Team and Design Office activities;
  • Ensure the traceability of the inspections that you perform during the NDT inspection phase, following the procedures shared and available in the Scuderia AlphaTauri Quality Department and in the other supported departments;
  • Ascertain that the information’s regarding structural issues on the components are always received and understood by the Scuderia AlphaTauri involved departments (Design Office - Reliability - Purchasing);
  • support inspection investigations related to car faults and issues, supporting the requests by Reliability Department, Design Office and Race Team;
  • support the Production Department of Scuderia AlphaTauri with structural NDT inspections during the production process;
  • Manage the additional Quality Department activities, assigned to him by the Head of Quality, and the relative feedbacks.

What you need:

  • Experience of working within a Formula 1 team is desirable, otherwise aerospace or automotive NDT experience
  • Ability to work proactively and under pressure
  • Used to team work
